Trying to setup the data catalog to talk to a 2008 SQL server , its able to connect and created a bunch of tables.
However the webpage shows up blank the localhost with 15156 . and after that nothing happens. Could this be anything on the firewall if yes , please suggest and also if its anything to do with data catalog product.

thanks

@mohsin is the 2008 instance one you've connected to to catalog, or are you using it for the backend instance? Pre-requisites for the Data Catalog backend DB are 2012+ as per here: Requirements - SQL Data Catalog - Product Documentation (red-gate.com)

Also is there anything in the logs: Application Logs - SQL Data Catalog - Product Documentation (red-gate.com) as it may be worth checking if there's anything obvious preventing it from displaying anything...

    Hi @mohsin

Thank you for reaching out on the Redgate forums. As per @TheMaskedDatacomments are you able to confirm that your SQL Data Catalog installation is on a SQL Server 2012+ instance and that you are trying to catalogue a SQL Server 2008 instance.

The Data Catalog website (http://<server>:15156 ) is not loading at all?

Are you able to confirm that the service 'Redgate SQL Data Catalog Service' is running in services.msc. It may help to stop/restart the service to see if that assists in loading the web page.

If you can please provide a copy of any log files that would be helpful in investigating further. I have created a file share link for you to upload to rather than putting them on the forum.
