Select object in Object Explorer disabled

I am an experienced SQL Search user and now find that one of my SQL Search installations has Select object in Object Explorer disabled (ie not blue but greyed out and without the hyperlink). Nor do the double click or right click options on the object work.

As far as I can see, the setup is the same as another installation which works. All are Version 3.5.5.2703.

Any ideas?

    Thanks for your inquiry and sorry to hear about your issue with SQL Search.
    Can you confirm what version of SSMS that you're seeing this issue with? Are you able to workaround this via disconnecting and reconnecting to the SQL Instance from SSMS?
