I used to use SQL Search with Azure SQL DW (Azure Synapse). It no longer works with Azure Synapse, though it still works with regular SQL Server DBs (and Azure SQL DBs, I believe).
Can we expect to have that search functionality returned any time soon?
If not, is there an alternative Search function/tool that can be used with Azure Synapse? I need to search the text in stored procedures, mostly.

Unfortunately SQL Search does not support Azure Synapse.
