Performance issues in AWS

I had a on-prem infrastructure that was migrated to AWS.
I started having some performance issues with the new configuration.
Is there a particular configuration for AWS? Can I improve the performance, if so, how?

    The product is SmartAssembly.
    The process just takes too long, comparing to the on-prem time.
