I wanted to share an update you all, before we announce publicly, as I know that a large proportion of you have been SQLSaturday champions over the years and involved in organising, speaking and attending SQLSaturday events.

I'm delighted to announce that Redgate plans to establish a community-run SQLSaturday foundation and donate the SQLSaturday brand and assets.
The foundation would support the data platform community to run your own regional SQLSaturday events
(as many of you already do!), which are vital in helping communities across the globe connect, learn, and share. It would be a not-for-profit served by appointed community volunteers. We're still working through the logistics, and once we have more information, we'll share it.

As active members of the data community, we'd appreciate your feedback on how the SQLSaturday foundation can best serve your communities going forward. Either share your thoughts in the discussion below, or post to the SQLServerCentral forum thread, or drop an email to Eleanor.

Thank you for all the support and enthusiasm you've already shown for Redgate's plans for the future of SQLSaturday and PASS. We look forward to supporting you and your communities, as best we can.

[NDA, until the email is sent to everyone to opted-in here, and Redgate's Twitter message - to follow]
