Switching off auto indexing?

It's getting very annoying, how many times SQL search starts to re-indexing. Is there an option to switch it off, not only cancelling?
If not, it would be good, to have an option to switch off auto indexing. Seems I know better when I have to re-index

    Thanks for your inquiry with SQL Search.
    The automatic indexing problem is something we've seen a couple of times before so it's something the developers are looking to investigate further in the future. Unfortunately, we can't make any promises at the present time on when exactly that work will be complete.
