Any way to specify an instance alias in Powershell?

I'm a new customer with over 100 SQL Servers to add to SQL Monitor via Powershell, and would like to alias each one with a more descriptive title than just the server name. The Add-SqlMonitorMonitoredObject cmdlet doesn't have an alias option. Is it possible to programmatically specify an alias?
