Hi there,
I think you have found a bug in SQL Compare 8 command lineWe are looking into fixing this at the moment. You can work around the problem by either a) not using a project and specifying the settings using a combination of command line switches i.e. /db1:Database1 or b) using SQL Compare 7
Thanks for spotting this,
Tom
Red Gate Software -
it's almost a month out and still no fix?
I'd use 7, but I have tools that our team relies on, and a few people are stuck on 8 (i.e., they never had 7 and don't feel like retrograding)
please give an idea of ETA. -
Hi dwainew; apologies for the delay. We now have a private release build that fixes this issue - please contact support@red-gate.com and reference this post to obtain it

I am trying to compare and export my results via the command line utility, but it doesn't generate any files. Here is the command line i have used:
sqlcompare.exe /project:"C:\test.scp" /reporttype:Interactive /report:"C:\test.html"
It worked in our former version (v7) if i remember correctly. Can anyone verify if it's bugged or am i overlooking something ?
Thx in advance
