How can we help you today? How can we help you today?

A way to see the changes I just made?

Is there some sort of history of changes stored in SQL Compare? We use this to sync local dev with community staging after staged releases. It happens sometimes that I don't keep track of exactly which tables were created/modified and want to be able to confirm that - yes, spXYZ was different before the latest update.

    Hi @BrienM

Thanks for your query regarding SQL Compare. Unfortunately, there isn't any history of changes stored in SQL Compare, however, would it help to generate a comparison report that you can reference to see what the differences were?

Please see the documentation below which outlines how to generate reports.

    Kind regards,

Thanks Pete -- Yes, I guess just a little forethought on my part would solve the problem ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@BrienM - If you check "Back up before deployment", you can choose to Create a SQL Compare Snapshot of the target before each deployment. These snapshots contain the schema state information so this builds up a historic chain of what has been deployed over time. Just load two snapshots as the source and target in SQL Compare to see what changed in between.
