SQL Data compare temporal tables

Can I somehow make sure I get the same values in temporal tables if I use sql data compare?

When I tried it on a machine today it only filled the 'current' part of the temporal table and with timestamps at the time of the compare. It didn't generate any historic data at all.

Unfortunately we didn't implement this for fear of overwriting history tables that are often used to record audit trails. It looks like a few people have requested this feature on our Uservoice page - it would be really helpful to us if you could add your opinion.
