Redgate Foundry Teams findings of SQL Server configuration

Hi FORGS, hope you all had great weekends,

We in the Foundry team at Redgate have been exploring issues around SQL Server configuration, we've written a blog about our early findings here:

https://medium.com/ingeniouslysimple/when-your-best-practices-are-only-your-best-guess-with-regards-to-sql-server-configuration-9d0964899668

It would be great to hear your feedback on it, and if you could share it amongst your networks that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris - Redgate Foundry

Great article.  I was shocked to see my name at the bottom from one of my blog posts.  That was a first.

I would love to participate with any activity needed on this project.  I have a very diverse environment that has silos of servers that need to be kept in sync relating to configurations.  I have started and stopped and started and stopped developing a PowerShell solution, but have not had the time to give it serious attention.  This would be a great solution from someone I trust to keep this stuff in sync.

Contact me further or let me know how I jump on board this project.

Hi Garry, I hope the 'shock' was a pleasant one? your blog perfectly summed up that section of the configuration process we were describing so hope it was okay to quote you. Thanks for volunteering to be involved, we've all been in meetings all day, but let me catch up with the team and we'll be in touch :)

Our environment is smaller but our servers tend to be artisanally created, I'd definitely be willing to help out if we can.
