Welcome to the 2019 Friends of Redgate Program!
Thank you for renewing your membership or applying to be a Friend of Redgate this year. It’s great to have you on board. Check out the full list of 2019 Friends to see who else is in the program this year.
I’m Roseanna and I look after the Friends of Redgate program. My goal for this year is to give you as many opportunities to get involved with the teams here at Redgate as possible, so we can all learn from one another, develop our skills, and support the Microsoft Data Platform community together. Here at Redgate, we believe that we do our best work in teams, and you are an extended part of this team.
I’ve put together a quick guide to the Friends of Redgate Program; to introduce the program to new Friends and remind familiar Friends of what to expect over the next 12 months.
How do I connect with Redgate and fellow Friends?
There are lots of ways for you to connect with Redgate and FoRGs:
friends@red-gate.com
I (Roseanna Whitelegg) am your main point of contact for the program. If you have any questions or requests, please email me on friends@red-gate.com.
FoRG Forum
This is a private forum specifically for FoRGs, connecting you directly to Redgaters in development, marketing and support. This is the place for you to share your opinion about Redgate tools, provide feedback about new features and tools currently being developed, and ask Redgaters and fellow FoRGs questions about the tools. We’ll use the FoRG Forum to update you on the latest news and updates. If something is NDA we’ll make it clear in the post.
Notifications
To ensure you stay up-to-date on all things FoRG, we recommend for you to set up notifications for the FoRG forum. To do this, simply:
- Click on the cog wheel on the right-hand side of your profile photo and select ‘Edit Profile’
- On the right-hand side of the screen you’ll see a settings box, click on the second option down ‘Notification Preferences’
- Scroll down to ‘Category Notifications’, here you have the option to set up email notifications for new discussions and comments on the forums.
Twitter (@RedGateFriends)
As with the FoRG Forum, this is a private group exclusively for FoRGs and Redgaters. Through this group, we’ll update you on new forum posts and any other Friends of Redgate news. Please follow us!
Monthly newsletter
Each month, you will receive an update from Redgate, sharing the latest forum posts, exclusive news and announcing the Friend of the Month (more to come later).
Online directory
All the 2019 Friends are listed in our 2019 online directory. Take a look at your profile and see who else is in the program this year.
Face-to-face
Throughout the year, they’ll be opportunities for you to join us and fellow Friends at exclusive FoRG gatherings, such as the annual PASS Summit dinner, so we can all get to know each other better.
We’ll also be exhibiting at lots of events across the world this year (more details to follow), so hopefully, we’ll get to meet at these too.
How do I collaborate with Redgate?
Everyone has completed the Friends of Redgate survey and selected the activities that they would like to get involved with. We’ll reach out to you throughout the year regarding these activities and will connect you with the relevant teams at Redgate.
As a quick reminder, here are just a handful of ways that you can get involved with us this year, along with links to current opportunities available to you:
We’re here to support you and will provide tips and training along the way, along with help with promoting your work.
If you’d like to get involved more or would like further advice on how to work with the teams at Redgate, let me know.
How do I request my complimentary tools?
As a Friend of Redgate, you are entitled to NFR licenses for our tools for personal use. To request licenses, email me on friends@red-gate.com with details of which tools you require.
How do I learn more about Redgate's tools and solutions?
We have a huge range of learning resources on our website on both our tools and solutions. I strongly encourage everyone to watch our Introduction to Compliant Database DevOps webinar (only 30 minutes long) to give you further understanding of our solutions. If you'd like to learn more about a particular tool, the Redgate University videos and product learning articles are a great place to start. If you have any further questions, just let me know and I can connect you with the relevant team.
How do I become Friend of the Month?
The Friend of the Month Award is back for 2019! Every month, we’ll be giving one Friend an award to recognise their contributions to the community and Redgate. We’ll be selecting the winners based on their engagement with Redgate and their collaborations with us, so please do keep in touch!
How can I brag about my Friend of Redgate status?
Display the
2019 Friends of Redgate logo on your website/blog and in your slide decks (see image below)
Wear the Friends of Redgate polo or your pin badge. Pin badges will be sent to everyone shortly and polos will be sent to those who requested one.
If you have any questions about any of the above, let me know.
Here’s to a fantastic 2019!
Cheers,
Roseanna
