Cannot search SQL Server 08.00.760

Using SSMS v17.9.1 and SQL Search 3.2.3.2230 connecting to SQL Server version 08.00.760 the search box and all drop down selections are grayed out.

    Checked the log file, I get this:

    15 Jan 2019 13:31:55.666 [9] ERROR RedGate.SQLSearch.Addin.Tab.DatabaseConnector - Could not load database list
    System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Invalid object name 'sys.databases'.

    Unfortunately we don't support SQL Server 2000 for most of our products any more - you may have some luck with an old version of SQL Search, but remember to turn off automatic updates before you try this.
