Disable view of Archives in Outlook and OWA

Hello. The product sounds awesome and can't wait until the final version is available. I have a couple of questions though.

1. Is it possible to disable the viewing of archived items in Outlook and OWA? In other words, if I would like to clean up my Inbox to only those emails within the past month or so, could I do that, and still have the ability to search through my Archived files if desired?

2. Will Exchange Archiver archive the Deleted folder as well?

3. On your pricing structure, what do you see as the minimum user license, or Archived folder?

Thanks,

Mike

When we archive a message, we move the bulk of the data out of Exchange, just leaving a small stub. Are you after something that will remove even these stubs?

If so, that's not something we support at the moment - are you looking at this from a "size of data" point of view, or a "keep my Inbox clear" point of view?
    2. Will Exchange Archiver archive the Deleted folder as well?

In the Beta, yes. That might change for the final release, though, as I think it probably makes more sense not to.

The product will be licensed per mailbox being archived, and there's no minimum number of mailboxes.

    Hope that helps,

Thank you for your reply. As for question one, I am looking at both size and clear inbox point of view. My boss has about 2000 emails in his inbox, and would like access to them if needed, but would like to only see his most recent ones (clean inbox). As for the Deleted folder, he has about 10000 in his deleted items. For some reason he still wants to keep his deleted items, just in case. I am hoping that this feature will still be in the release version.

Do you know of a better release date yet?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Thanks for the clarification. We'll bear both of those points in mind - cleaning out old stubs isn't going to be something we include this version, but I've raised it as a feature request so we'll consider it again when we come to do the next version (ESA-1509).

Currently we're hoping for late March or thereabouts.

    Hope that helps,

Just a thought - one way of getting an automatic clean-out of the stubs would be to set up a mailbox management policy to delete items older than a couple of months.

To be on the safe side, you can also set it to exclude certain message classes, so if you exclude IPM.Note, that should make sure that if any messages haven't been archived for some reason, they don't get deleted.

You'll still be able to search archived messages through both our Outlook Add-in search, and the UAA Service search, whether or not the stubs are still there in Exchange.

    Hope that helps,
