VSIX 3.0.1.599 fails to install with VS2017 Enterprise 15.8 or later

Looks like the VSIX requires VS release older than 15.8:

    My apologies -- it is the upgrade from 2.2.0.172 to 3.0.1.599 that is failing.

    Same experience here (VS version is 15.8.3). Not sure how 2.2 is compliant but 3.0 is not.

    It looks like Microsoft changed how to identify project types in 15.8.+. We'll push out a fix asap.

    You should be able to update now, 3.0.2.610 fixes it.
