Clone size increased a lot

I have created a database image which is 134GB. Then I created a clone of that image which was 100MB, which is a great disk saver. However I ran a SELECT statement to pull out 1000 rows then the database was left and no one else has interacted with it at all. I then check this morning and the clone now weighs in at 42GB!!! I thought SQL Clone was supposed to save disk space?

Any idea why a clone would jump from 100MB to 42GB with no data being changed?

Thanks praveen_d that could be it. The clone was on a server which runs a daily index optimise job for all databases so I will update it to exclude any clone databases.
