If you've a valid support contract, can you email your settings.config in to support for us to take a look at? I'm not quite sure how you don't have a connection string in this file, it could be corrupted?

Hi RussellD,
The SQL Monitor is working perfectly fine as it stands so if its corrupt its still working.
I do have a valid support contract so where should I send this to?

You can login and submit the request here: https://productsupport.red-gate.com/hc/en-us/.

Just to confirm for anyone else that comes across this, it is indeed the RedGate.Response.Engine.Alerting.Base.Service.exe.settings.config file that you want to edit, and this is located in %ProgramData%\Red Gate\SQL Monitor\.
Just bear in mind that ProgramData is often hidden by default.

I have SQL Monitor 7 that was installed by a previous employee, I wish to move the database for SQL Monitor to a new server, however the guide:
https://documentation.red-gate.com/sm7/advanced-operations/moving-the-sql-monitor-database
I have followed and the instructions and checked the
RedGate.Response.Engine.Alerting.Base.Service.exe.settings.config
file and it has no connection strings for SQL in there. I need to understand both where it is putting the information to so I can copy it and also then change the location it is going to for a new server installation.
Cheers.
