What SQL Saturdays to attend?

Hi All

Next year we are looking attend quite a few more SQL Saturday events in North America and Europe. I'm currently drawing up a list of ones we might go to (ones with lots of DBA's :) ) but I thought I'd ask you what your experiences of these events has been. Which ones were valuable, well attended, had good speakers etc. Also if you have any negative experiences it would be good to know those too.

Feel free to post here, but if you'd rather send me something direct, you can email mark.champion@red-gate.com

Thanks for any help you can give

Mark

Mark, we'd love to have more Redgate representation at SQL Saturday Albuquerque! :-) http://www.sqlsaturday.com/720/eventhome.aspx

Also, I'll email you directly about presenting Redgate products at other SQL Saturdays in the US.

Mark, you probably know I've been nagging @way0utwest and @Grant Fritchey to come down to Melbourne. Likely to be on your radar anytime soon?

I'd love to come, and hopefully will at some point. Nothing planned in 2018, and no events for me in Q1, but after that I'll start looking for a few.

Thanks for the note, Eduardo. Unfortunately I have a conflict in March and can't come, though I would love to attend one day. Perhaps one of our other speakers can attend.

I'm kinda partial to Baton Rouge myself :) We've had you guys in the past and would love to host again. Our event is normally the first weekend in August (although 2017 was last weekend in July due to other scheduling issues)

SQL Sat Manchester is quite impressive now. Similar size to SQLBits a few years ago and well run.

Nashville, Chicago, Sacramento, Pensacola, Baton Rouge, and Kansas City all pull very larger crowds. I try to speak or attend these annually.

If you want large crowds. Silicon Valley, Baton Rouge, Atlanta are the largest. However a number of others have better than average (200-ish) crowds.

We always try to have 2 SQL Saturdays back to back in Australia/NZ so that if anyone is travelling they get to do 2 events in a week. Makes for a better ROI for you international peeps :-)

We'd love to have you in Chicago!

As an organizer, I'm only a tiny bit biased. But we do have a new (and much larger) location this year so we are hoping to pull in a record crowd!

Glad to hear you got a larger venue! You outgrew the other one years ago! :-)

    Mark, et al:

SQLSaturday Oregon is typically the weekend before the Summit (and only a SQL Train ride away) and we get great speakers and typically over 400 attendees. We'd love to have Redgate there.
