Why is my build failing with System.IO.EndOfStreamException?

Why is my build failing with System.IO.EndOfStreamException? And what can I do to fix it?

If I embed my DLLs, it builds fine; but if I merge the exact same DLLs, I get the message:

Build Failed
The build process failed during the preparation of the resulting assembly.
System.IO.EndOfStreamException: Unable to read beyond the end of the stream.

There is no further explanation. There is no indication what's causing the problem. And System.IO.EndOfStreamException does not appear anywhere on the Redgate site.

    This looks like a question that one of Support engineers will need to investigate for you.

     

    If you have a support contract, please send us a ticket. Provide as much information as you can - screenshots of any errors, log files etc – so we can help you as fast as possible.
