Hi everyone.
I'm pleased to announce that we will be launching SQL Compare 13 in September!
This new version will support many of the new features of SQL Server 2017, as well as other improvements to the tool.
We have released the first iteration to Frequent Updates
today, the headline features are:
- Support for the HISTORY_RETENTION_PERIOD option on Temporal Tables
- The SQL Compare parser now accepts DATABASE SCOPED CONFIGURATION syntax
Over the next few weeks the team will be developing the new features and releasing them to Frequent Updates.
Features to be added include:
- SQL Graph support
- Additional Temporal Tables support
- Azure AD authentication
- The ability to save db and server login details
- SQL Monitor support - so that deployments are automatically detected and displayed within your dashboard
Plus lots of bug fixes and other improvements.
We will be starting our marketing campaigns for SQL Compare 13 in mid-September once more of the features above have been added and the tool is ready for a default release. I will post here when marketing materials are available.
In the mean time we are very keen for as many of you as possible to download the Frequent Updates releases and try out the new features as they are added. Your feedback to the team is vital in helping them build a robust and useful product.
You can upgrade to the first release of SQL Compare 13 now by opening it and clicking on the upgrade banner when it appears (you will need to have Frequent Updates turned on).
Thanks for your help and support.
Jamie
