Is it possible to get e-mail notifications for new and updated posts?
-
Hey Paulo, Yes of course.
You just need to go into 'Profile', 'Edit Profile', then select 'Notification Preferences', in General, select 'Email' for "Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in", and then below in 'Category Notifications' select 'Email' for 'Discussions' and 'Comments'. Hopefully that's straight forward. I see you've already edited your signature - which looks good -
Is it possible to change the notification email that you get when there is a new comment in the FoRG forum - the content of the email simply says 'New comment in FoRG forum' - would be more useful if it contained the actual comment.

I was just thinking the very same thing. I'll check this and if it's possible to edit it and include the message (or at least a summary) and get it updated.

Unfortunately, the notifications don't include the message.

Much of what has been posted to the FoRG Google group is either news from the teams at Redgate, or questions/comments/feedback from FoRGs about tools (which is exactly what we want).
With this in mind it feels most sensible to retire the FoRG Google Group, and move FoRG discussions and connections into a private forum (just for FoRGs and Redgaters) within the Redgate Hub.
*Introducing the private FoRG Forum*
Firstly as you're reading this, you've already logged in using your RGID, which is first step. I now urge you to 'Edit Profile' and configure your notification preferences. Select what you'd like to be notified about (whether it's discussions about the tools you're most interested in (we're working on reducing the size of the list, or posts to the FoRG Forum - you choose). You can also set a signature (perhaps include your blog URL, your company name etc) and connect up to your social accounts.
The FoRG Forum is a private forum specifically for Friends of Redgate, to connect you directly with Redgate's developers, UX, product leads, support engineers, product marketers, etc.
Please don't be shy, we really want you to share your opinion about Redgate tools. The teams love getting feedback and hearing what you think about new features that are being worked on. If you have ideas about new features/products, share them here too.
The FoRG Forum is also the best place for you to ask Redgaters, and fellow FoRGs technical questions about the tools.
From within Redgate, we’ll use the FoRG Forum to update you on the very latest news and updates. If something is NDA we’ll make it clear in the post, otherwise, please do share things amongst your networks.
