can you filter alerts long running jobs for exmpler

I want to filter alerts for long running jobs. For example i have the alert for long running jobs set at 15 mins. This picks up alerts for backups running a long time which i dont need to know about. How can i filter this.I have a similar situation where a SQL agent job fails regulary which i want to filter out
