'SQL Prompt formatting off' doesn't seem to work

  Did you format the SQL first, and then choose to disable formatting on the highlighted code? If so this doesn't work, you need to select the code you don't want formatting and disable formatting first, then format the rest of the sql.
  
  In the documentation it does say 'This code now won't be formatted when you run Format SQL.', but I'll see if we can make this any clearer.

  Tried it both the ways you suggested, see the gif's below. Both with the same result. I expected the indention won't be formatted.

  After upgrading to SQL Prompt 8, 'formatting off' works as expected.
