How to escape $ character in a snippet?

How can I output something like 
$tablename$
literally in SQL Prompt? I tried to use back slash or double $ to escape $ but failed. Thanks.

    It looks like you can do this by doubling $, for example:
    $$tablename$$
    Jessica R
