Unable to connect via Firefox

Hi

Just installed SQL Clone and I am getting the following error when the web page opens up. I have used the same account details as the service. I have also enabled IPv4 and IPv6

2017-04-30 11:14:22.496 +01:00 [Error] An unhandled exception occurred
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Connection Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed while attempting to consume the pre-login handshake acknowledgement. This could be because the pre-login handshake failed or the server was unable to respond back in time. The duration spent while attempting to connect to this server was - [Pre-Login] initialization=4937; handshake=4095; ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The wait operation timed out

Hi - had SQL Clone been working before you encountered this error?

    Hi Mark
No, this is my first install of Clone trial. I am evaluating it for the company I work at
    Thanks

    Hi,

Could you restart "SQL Clone Server" and then check whether the problem remains?

Could you also give us a screenshot of where the error you've mentioned occurs?

    Thanks,

    Hi Onat

I rebooted my whole machine just in case. The error occurs when going to http://(mycomputerhere):14145

I get the same when doing http://localhost:14145

This occurs during the setup process. I will send a screenshot tonight when I have my laptop to hand

    Thanks

    Hi,

Could you check whether "SqlClone_Config" database is created and "__EFMigrationsHistory" table is populated with the following entries:

Looks like nothing created in my instance. No database created.

I have attached the only log file I can find

    Hi,

It seems like SQL Clone Server cannot connect to SQL Server instance you provided in configuration step. I have two questions to better understand the issue you are experiencing:

    1) Is the SQL Server instance located in a remote server?

    2) Are you able to connect to the SQL Server instance with the credentials you entered in configuration?

    Hi Onatm

    1. No. All local. Laptop.

    2. The SQL Clone service is running with those credentials I thought I entered. Is there a log file that can confirm my details I used at installation?

I assume I am okay to uninstall and try it all again?

    Hi,

You can re-configure SQL Clone Server by running SQL Clone Server Setup from the Windows start menu.

    Hi

So rerunning the setup I must have had the right username and password because the install must do some form of checking as it gives an error if I don't

Once I enter my username and password I can progress but the database is still not created and I get the same error.

I tried with username .\myusername and mylocaldomain\myusername, neither worked

    Hi,

Could you share the connection string of SQL Clone Server which is located in registry HKLM\SOFTWARE\Red Gate\SQL Clone\ManagementDatabase.

If it helps I am happy to set up a remote connection sharing

    Hi,

Could you create SQLClone_Config manually on APRESS_DEV1 instance and then check whether SQL Clone Server works?

If it won't work we can schedule a remote sharing.

    Hi

Manual creation of the database has got over the hurdle and the web page is displayed and a nice "Update available to 1.1.1" message as well

    Thanks
