Known Issue - Upgrading cannot use existing Webserver port

When upgrading to the latest version of SQM (6.0.1.5108 as of now), you are unable to install to the same Web server port number. This is logged as bug SRP-10807.

There are two options for working around this:
    Either
  • Uninstall the old version and then reinstall SQM.
  • The second is to install the upgrade to a different port, and then edit RedGate.Response.UI.Server.Service.exe.config in C:Program FilesRed GateSQL MonitorWeb,
    <serverSettings portNum="8080" serviceType="network">
    
    to reflect your existing Web server port number.

    You will then need to restart the SQL Monitor Web Service for the changes to take effect.

This was fixed in more recent version so its unlikely that anyone will encounter the problem again.
