Currently we don’t have any known issues like the one you’re describing.
If you could turn on SQL Prompt’s verbose logging and send us the log file we can check if SQL Prompt is doing anything when SSMS hangs. The documentation explaining how to do this is here: http://documentation.red-gate.com/displ ... +log+files. You can email the log file to the team at sqlpromptteam@red-gate.com.
Alternatively you could uninstall SQL Prompt and see if the problem persists. If you do, please let us know if it makes any difference.

I am using SSMS 16.4.1 and the latest beta of SQL Prompt as of 10/6/2016
