SSMS Hangs When Opening a New Connection

I don't know if this is a SSMS issue or SQL Prompt. But I thought I'd ask. After working in SSMS for a little while, when I start to open new queries, it hangs during the connection to the server. The result is that I have to sit there and stare at SSMS do nothing for about 30 seconds until it finally connects. It really takes me out of my rhythm. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks!

I am using SSMS 16.4.1 and the latest beta of SQL Prompt as of 10/6/2016

    Currently we don’t have any known issues like the one you’re describing.

    If you could turn on SQL Prompt’s verbose logging and send us the log file we can check if SQL Prompt is doing anything when SSMS hangs. The documentation explaining how to do this is here: http://documentation.red-gate.com/displ ... +log+files. You can email the log file to the team at sqlpromptteam@red-gate.com.

    Alternatively you could uninstall SQL Prompt and see if the problem persists. If you do, please let us know if it makes any difference.
