When new versions of reflector come out, could we get some release notes about what's changed? Mine just self updated to 5.1.4.0, with no indication of what got updated/fixed/etc.

Good question. I was looking for the same thing.

Please, provide a changelog so we know what is being addressed.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I have to bring my vote in favor of this too.

I've been using Reflector for quite some time now, and I appreciate the features that are now available. I sure wouldn't like it if Red Gate were to remove features without my knowledge.

    Please provide Release Notes.

    Thank you.

    2. will they de-obfuscate .NET Reflector itself, so we can peek inside it!

    Yep!

Sorry I was away for a the past few weeks so haven't been as on top of replying here as I would like to be :)

As covered in a previous thread, there are no historic release notes but we will be putting some in-place for future releases of Reflector (5.1.4.0 which was released a few weeks ago had only two small bug fixes and we changed the expiry date of the build to next march).

As for obfuscation - Lutz made the decision to obfuscate Reflector several years ago. We have not changed this since taking over Reflector. I'm not overly sure we are ever likely to change this although if there is a good reason to then we will have a think about it.

Sorry for not answering this thread earlier,

    James

Although opening up the code would be cool, I don't see much use to it since Mono.Cecil seems to do a wonderful job doing the same thing.

But the release notes would be cool.

Anyway, is there an expiration date for the binary? Is this just to notify that there may be a new release, or the app will simply stop working?

PS: By the samething, I mean reading the assemblies, as a lot of people were asking it to do this. The code translation from IL would be cool to see.
