Can you post an image with the error?

I get the same error when installing SQL Prompt.
I just this morning upgraded from SSMS 2014 to SSMS 2016 RC -
Hi Guys,
Sorry you're having issues with the installer, it looks like it's related to having SSMS2005 installed (if you don't have SSMS2005 installed please let me know) and we're looking into a fix now.
A possible workaround for now is to install using the Check for Updates installer which can be downloaded directly here
Thanks,
Aaron. -
I don't have SSMS2005 installed
The other installer you linked to worked BTW -
This should now be fixed in the website download and bundles. We think it was caused by a 32/64-bit mismatch while trying to run the extensibilityMSM.msi.
Thanks for reporting it! -
Thanks, this sorted it for me.

I think it maybe that Extensibility for SQL Server Management Studio related. The install tries to install this but the download might be blocked by a proxy.
Can I download Extensibility for SQL Server manually?
Best
