Could not start IIS but no error log

I am attempting to profile an ASP.NET application using IIS. However, when I attempt to start the profile I receive the message that the profiling session could not start because IIS could not be started. The log file does not indicate that anything is out of place though.

    This is what I receive in Event Viewer:
    The worker process for app pool 'RGTestAppPool', PID='9864', failed to initialize the http.sys communication when asked to start processing http requests and therefore will be considered ill by W3SVC and terminated.  The data field contains the error number.

    Thanks for your post!

    We've got a ticket opened for you for this issue and I've just sent an update:

    From the errors you sent over, it actually looks like you may be running into a known issue with profiling IIS after upgrading to Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 -- it's caused by having non-http and https bindings set for your site.

    Could you kindly open IIS manager, check your bindings for the site you are trying to profile, and try (if only temporarily) removing all bindings except for any http and https bindings (i.e.net.tcp, net.pipe, net.msmq, msmq.formatname)?

    Please let me know how you get on! Should that not help, we'll do some more investigating.

    Confirming that removing the bindings in IIS did allow for profiling. The bindings were present for local testing of several WCF services we have.
