Backup of SQL 2005, Restore into SQL 2008?

We planning to replace some of our servers. The old ones are Windows 2003 with SQL 2005 Standard using SQL Backup. The new machines uses Windows 2008 with SQL Server 2008 Standard. Is it possible to use a backup from the SQL 2005 and restore it to SQL 2008?

    Yes. However, version 5.3 may not work with Windows 2008, depending on your server setup. If it fails, see this post on where you can download a patch from.
