It looks like your computer's been marked as having had license tampering occur, which is somewhat difficult to recover from (by design!). I don't believe there's any way to fix it short of wiping the computer and starting from scratch - sales@red-gate.com, who deal with licensing matters, might have further advice, but as it's a beta license the usual way of fixing it won't work because it can't be activated.

Just to follow up on that question, my SQL Compare 7 Beta says it has 20 days left until the trial ended
Will we see the official SQL Compare 7 before that ends?
We do own license for SQL Toolbelt, but it's so hard to go back to SQL Compare 6 now, because 7 is so good -
We're still not exactly sure on the release date, but our current plans involve a release candidate before the beta license expires. (Note: Plans are still subject to change, this isn't a firm commitment to get something out before the beta expires.)

That's a real pain. I had really wanted to try out V7 for the ability to compare a Backup with a Live development d/b - an ideal solution for our package product to check what changes have been made between releases.
Thanks for taking time to reply anyway. -
Hi,
It's says it's expired and it doesn't even take serial number I have (for 6 Pro version).
It's perhaps because our subscription expired? (forgot to renew!)
Is this mean, no way I can use the Beta and must wait until next release arrive?
Thanks. -
As this is a Beta, upon attempting to activate you will receive a message, "You can't activate this license". This is intentional. I guess the only option now is to carry on using v6 until v7 is released in a few weeks' time. Is there any specific functionality in v7 that you have come to rely on?
When v7 is released you will need a valid license. If you don't have an up-to-date support/upgrades contract, your v6 license number won't be accepted. To renew this, please contact sales@red-gate.com.
Kind regards,

Hi David,
I am using SQL 2008 CTP & RC0 and needed to sync them with SQL 2000 & 2005 database.
With v6, when I attempt to do so, it will stop with error message saying that some procs are unknown, (I forgot which one but it is apparently they are obsolete and removed from 2008.)
We will contact sales to renew our support/upgrades contact soon.
Thanks. -
It's expiration day today. Any word on Beta2 or an extension to Beta1?

There will be no second beta. We are currently install testing SQL Compare 7, and we are planning to release it very soon. If you need to use the functionality of SQL Compare 7 before it is released, and have a support contract, please contact our support.

Yeah (not), my trial has expired
hopefully I don't need to use it yet
but let's hope I'll see 7 soon before I have to revert back to 6 :P

I went to test the new Beta today on a non-production machine as recommended . Unfortunately as it is an older laptop with a dead battery, and only runs on mains, the clock was well out of date (2007).
So when I go to run the Beta it just says "Your Trial has Expired", even though I have now corrected the date.
How can I get round this and get the Beta working?
