Unknown Backup Password - Possible to Decrypt Encrypted Pass

Product: SQL Backup v5.3

The backup job on one of our servers was altered and a different passowrd was used. We have the encrypted password but do not have the unencrypted password.

This only affected full backups for one night. The job has been corrected. However, if we need to restore one of the database backups from that night, we do not have the password required. Is there any way to unencrypt the password?

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately we do not support decrypting encrypted passwords. I hope that you understand why we have to have a clear policy on this as the moment we start supporting this it becomes very difficult for us to know where to draw the line or what proof we require to do the decryption.
