The SQL Compare 7 projects are not compatible with SQL Compare 6, so if you attempt to open SQL Compare 6 with SQL Compare 7 projects in the same project folder, you'll see blank projects (where SQL Compare 6 is failing to understand the project format of SQL Compare 7).
We mentioned this in the introduction post, although I expect quite a few people didn't notice this part as the post is quite long:Andras wrote:If you have SQL Compare installed, you will be able to continue to use the two products in parallel. However, you should use a separate project folder to store the projects of SQL Compare 7. -
That explains it, I thought SQL Compare 7 wasn't saving the project files
Yes I did read that part on the release thread
just didn't realize 6.0 cannot read 7.0 Projects
now I have 6.0 and 7.0 Projects folder, it's fine now -

Unfortunately it was and is a bug in version 6, and it was found only in version7. From version 7 this should no longer be an issue, so version 8, ... will display some friendly information instead of blanks.
