You could perform a full backup on the production server, and restore it on the standby server in norecovery/read-only mode. If you do this, you can skip the full backup and restore process.

I know, Peter, and that's what i did -- perform a full backup on the production server, and restore it on the standby server in norecoverymode.
But when i setup a log shipping using the wizard, it do it again, i did not find a way to bypass the two process.

We are seting up log shipping from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005, but the wizard always trying to backup frist and copy over , how can skip this two processes ? Thx.
