Somehow the job we are creating will not launch when desired. We have a job which backs up all the databases on a test server and it is set to run on Friday mornings at 3:00 am. it does not seem to be launching on its own. Have we missed something?

Please can you check you have the SQL Server Agent running? -
The sql agent seems to be launched. We have other scheduled tasks that seem to happen as expected. Enterprise manager only gives the open to stop the agent.
