Could you tell us the exact error message you get, or what behaviour precisely you are describing by saying that you can't connect to the SQL Express instance?
Are you connecting from localhost or from another computer on the network?

I try to connect a sql express instance on xp station with sql compare 5.3.0.44 but i can't.
With the sql management studion express it's ok.
I use the same login and password.
thera are no firewall on xp station, tcp/ip is active sql browser is running.
can you help me ?
