5.1 - UI eats CPU and memory

Testing 5.1 here, I'm noticing that the UI on my PC keeps my CPU pegged between 95% and 100%, it's sitting at ~150 MB working set and growing, and all it is doing is refreshing the status of servers. Another co-worker only has 512 MB of RAM and he can't run 5.1 at all after a while.

Is there any control we have over how often servers are polled? Or some other options for taming the UI?
