SQL Prompt doesn't handle FQDN

I have to connect to servers using FQDN i.e. simon.dev.london.corp

When I do SQL Prompt asks for authentication for simon.dev.london.corp.master and I try my windows credentials but no luck.

    Your server isn't configured only to accept connections via named pipes is it?

    We are using named pipes, to enable cross domain authentication.

    OK thanks Simon. Just need to check this: are you actually typing your username and password into the SQL Prompt authentication dialog?

    I wasn't because I want to use Windows authentication. Even if I enable SQL Authentication and type my credentials it still doesn't work.
