FIPS 140 Compliance

We just got told that all of our products/methods must be FIPS 140 validated. So I need to know if SQL Backup would fall into this category?

    Hi there,

    At the moment we are not FIPS 140 validated and have not looked into it previously. Which Level of FIPS 140 validation do you require?

    The New York State Standard for all state agencies is that it must meet any level (at least right now) I'm sure that will change. We currently must comply with this standard by 12/31/2008. Does Red Gate have any plans to be FIPS 140 validated? If not then we will need to look for another software for our database backup needs.

    If you have any other NYS Agency's as customers they will be affected by this new standard handed down on 8/1/2007.
