Problem on setting up email notification

I clicked the send test email button after I put in all information needed, I get the following message:

5.7.3 Client does not have permission to submit mail to this server.

Any idea? Thanks in advance.

The error message was generated by your mail server, rather than by SQL Backup.

If you have not entered a username and password for mail server authentication, you should enter one that has permissions to send email.

Alternatively if you did enter a username and password, you should check with the mail server administrator that the account is allowed to send emails.

Once you have supplied an account that has sufficient permissions for sending the emails, that message should no longer occur.

    Hope that helps,

I used myself email account which does have the permissions to send email. It still does not work.

Do the issues mentioned here (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159171.aspx) apply to your case?

Try sending the mail using telnet from your database server (e.g. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123686.aspx). To test authenticated logins, see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995718.aspx.
