Minimum SQL permissions?

I am trying to create a SQL Login that allows a user to create all the necessary SQL Docs for databases, tables, stored procedures, etc., but I want to limit their ability on the actual SQL Server.

What would be the minimal permission settings needed to create the SQL Docs?

    Hi,

    The safest thing to do on SQL 2005 is to GRANT VIEW DEFINITION to your documentation user. Then even if the user is not allowed access to some objects in the database, there should be a guarantee that they can still access all of the schema definitions.

    You may need some additional rights if you are going to place 'comments' on objects.
