Thanks for your post. You may want to make sure that you are entitled to version 4 by virtue of having a support contract. sales@red-gate.com can help you out with that if you send your serial number.
The only technical problem I've seen in upgrading from 3 to 4 is that in 3.1, the loaction where the extended stored procedure dll is kept had changed. If you run this query in Query Analyzerexec sp_helpextendedproc 'sqlbackup'
...and this returns something other than xp_sqlbackup.dll (ie the full file path), then you need to manually drop the extended proc and delete the old dll before your upgrade to version 4 will work.

I can not activate my new license for version 4. adn the GUI Still shows it as version 3.
Anyone ever see this?
