I have spoken to you guys about this before, and know it will probably not be done or considered. But i would do myself a diservice if i didnt mention it again.

When i am done going theu all the screens of the sync wizard... i dislike having to hit the final window's sync button. I know its there to catch those that click too fast. But after using the system over and over, its an extra step that takes time, and doesnt really provide me personally any advantage. I know the windows by heart, and take the time when needed to pause, but that last one... its annoying.

So, here's a suggestion. As I go thru that series of screens, i can tell you the ones i would really like to keep. The rest, what if there was a check box that allowed the system to skup them in the future? like the popup screens microsoft does when you log into a server, and it pops up the help. you can choose to not see this screen next time... and it never shows up again.
So, somewhere, an admin screen could reset these values. But i could check the screens i dont like to see over and over, and it would skip them. This would allow me, the user, to determine which ones i want and dont want.

the first screen, i dont care for. its purely informational.
the second screen, if i have deselected the dependencies, it doesnt help me. I usually unselect this anyway.
the third screen, the summary, i do use. But i find that i have to open up the summary each and every time. Why not just start with it opened up?
the last screen, the confirm... i wish it was the final screen. i confirm here, i dont want to be prompted again... but i am.

what if on this screen, you allowed checking and unchecking of what screens you would like to see in the previous series. So, if all were unselected, it would only start here, and show you this screen. But you could unckech them, and go back, and it would remember the settings next time...

some thoughts... i hope they make sense.
ask me if need clarification.

Well we consider most things, we may reject ideas for any number of reasons, but we do read everything.

I agree that the synchronisation wizard hasn't really been designed with power users like yourself in mind. This was primally because we find that new users to SQL Compare are often concerned about making changes to their databases. Each step of the synchroniation wizard is about reassuring users that they know what changes they are about to make and to which database they are going to make them.

I am with you here, most users will probably skip through this dialog.

I am less sure what we can do here, as this is the only place you can set the dependencies option, if we had a checkbox that allows you to skip this screen then we have the problem that if you want to change the setting you having to close the dialog, go and find the reset option so that you can see the setting.

Hmm, I need a bit more information here I am afraid. Do you mean that you view the SQL script every time or you have to expand the action plan every time?

I am with you here also and agree that a checkbox on it would probably make your life a bit easier.

I will have a chat to our usability expert and see what we can do, but you may have to wait until v6.1 to see any changes.

on the third screen, it has a list of the objects that will be synced. This list is usually collapsed with the little plus sign next to it. I open this, so that i can see the final list of objects that are going to be synced. I dont look at the script, just the list of names. Its allways collapsed. It'd be nice if it were not collapsed...
