How can we help you today? How can we help you today?

**Why does the menu in SSMS remain after uninstall?**

I just thought I should post these instructions more prominently as they're fairly well hidden in the release notes and (I believe) the online help.

When you uninstall SQL Prompt 3 the SQL Prompt menu item is not removed from the main menu bar. This is due to a method in the VSIP interfaces that has not been implemented, so it's actually a SQL Server Management Studio issue rather than a SQL Prompt issue. That said, it's still very annoying that the menu remains, and we're continuing to look for a workaround for this issue.

In the meantime you can get rid of the menu after uninstalling SQL Prompt 3 by following these instructions, which you'll find duplicated in the release notes:
SQL Server Management Studio Specific Issues
• When you uninstall SQL Prompt, the SQL Prompt menu is not removed from the SQL Server Management Studio toolbar. To remove the SQL Prompt menu, on the Tools menu click Customize. Drag the SQL Prompt menu to the SQL Server Management Studio title bar. Close the Customize dialog box. This is actually an issue with SQL Server Management Studio rather than SQL Prompt 3.

This should sort everything out. I apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

Many thanks,
Bart
