My expectation is that the tab character would work like it does in visual studio. As I am typing I should be able to down arrow and click enter or tab to select the one I am interested in.

Thanks for the feeback. On the options dialog there is an option to let you use the tab char to enter an item in the candidate list but there is also an anoying bug atm that inserts a tab char after the text. This is a bug and will be fixed by the final version.
