Installation on Itanium Servers

We have 6 SQL server clusters. 4 of the cluster sets are x86 machines and i have had no major issues with SQL backup. The other 2 clusters are running on Itanium with Windows server 2004 SP1 Itanium edition and SQL server 2000. on both of the 64bit clusters we have been having some randome blue screens and sometimes just reboots at random times. after working with Microsoft support as well as th hardware support they both came back with nothing except the fact that the last thing running in every instance before the reboot or blue screen is SQL backup v4.5. it may be a coincedence since we do trans log backups every 20 minutes but wondered if anybody can offer any clues or if they have seen this problem before.

    If you were to compare the times of the errors against the time the SQL Backup process ran, do the errors occur at the beginning of the backup process, during the backup process, or towards the end of the backup process? Thanks.

    the backup job is a log backup and the errors are after the jobs ran

    Immediately after, or after a consistent time interval? Were there any errors raised by the last few backup jobs before the errors occurred? Thanks.
