Newbe and not understanding why no install

Hello Guru's,
I am using Visual Studio 2005 application tools, and Windows XP Pro sp2.
As far as i know, English.

I get error when installing sql prompt 2.
first error is.. you must have version 2.8 pr higher of MDAC....

trying to install MDAC
MDAC 2.8 RTM is incompatible with this version of windows. All of these features are currently part of Windows...

Sorry, that i don't know what the heck i am doing.... :)

any help would be appreciated.
