Upgrading a Windows Server to Windows 2003 R2

We are Updating a Windows Server to Windows 2003 R2
how do we save the SQLbackup license info.
Should I just save the SQLUpdate.lic file ?

    Hello,

    It will be okay to upgrade to R2 in place without the need to change the licensing or move the licence file as long as you're not changing the physical server hardware.
